And belief is the substance of what is expected, the proof of what is not seen! Ibrim/Hebrews 11:1

Recently I have done some studying on the English word ‘belief’, sort of expanding on the limited definition I had of belief! After some synonym searches that helped me get a much bigger understanding to English words belief and faith – and how they always ‘went together’ in my thought process!

Never have I really related belief to fidelity which is faithfulness to a person, cause, or belief, demonstrated by continuing loyalty and support – in fidelity we can understand the counter; or infidelity, to be untrue, or unfaithful (these are ‘marriage terms’) and belief and marriage were never synonymous in my lack of understanding. Had a conversation with someone the other day – they ‘believe’ that if they work real hard (diligently) put in overtime, they will receive a large paycheck.. thus because of belief they do!  Our actions ‘tell the tale’ of our belief – or what we have in mind to DO – put into action because we believe said ‘action’ will result in favorable outcome… in this physical parallel – as well as the spiritual application – our true ‘heart’s desire’ becomes apparent in the ‘doing’ – no one can ‘see’ belief – and no one can know another’s ‘belief’ unless it becomes substance; the substance of one’s actions/fruit!! What we DO is the substance of what we believe in.

Going back to ‘marriage’ related to belief and being faithful/fidelity – or unfaithful/infidelity – adultery ‘I AM YaHuWaH your Elohim – you shall have NO OTHER elohim acherim ‘mighty ones’ (strange gods) before my face. Fidelity! Faithfulness! – He calls us to OBEY HIM, to follow; as spoken to us by Yahusha haMashiach – which SPEAKS OF BEING OBEDIENT, this is PRECISELY what He exemplified for us. OBEDIENCE TO THE FATHER (THE VOICE OF INSTRUCTION-which we have in Written Words) to regard Him as El Mighty!

“But without belief, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to Elohim has to believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who earnestly seek Him.”  Ibrim/Hebrews 11:6

We need to earnestly seek our Husband, The Head, and Authority!

Our ‘husband’ – The One and Only – The Head, Authority – The One we ‘choose’ to submit/come under – in belief; which ‘means’ the One we are faithful too — We must be ‘faithful’ in submissive obedience – out of Regard and Adoration for our Maker, Redeemer, and Deliverer. What we ‘believe’ is ultimately made evident by the substance of our actions!

So then Belief comes by Hearing, and Hearing by the word (Dabar) of Elohim.  Romiyim/Romans 10:17

Our belief = submissive obedience, faith-faithfulness, to be true too – fidelity – singleness of heart, mind, being and to NO OTHER ‘mighty ones’ looking to a ‘system’ of ‘doing’ – that ‘promises’ a result – a system is a step-by-step process, a procedure, a method of ‘doing’ that ‘guarantees’ a ‘favorable’ and ‘desirable’ outcome! We need to be very careful of who we bend our ear and pay allegiance to!

How many (oh so many) ie: traditions, health-mental health ‘solutions’, careers, education, ‘ladder of success’, (there is a ‘ladder’ we seek – it is not of this world) — how to have a better/or successful relationship/marriage – 10 steps to:___ , a 12 step program for:___ and ‘the systems of fallen man’s mind for improvement or success go on, and on, and on…. but they are futility – none of them can ‘give Life’ – only ONE system, process, method, step-by-step Way has THE PROMISE OF LIFE to FOLLOW IN OBEDIENCE JUST AS YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH DID… TO BE obedient children who seek out the Instructions of the Father – for ‘the Household’ to come under, in submission to, His Everlasting Governing over His Dwelling Place so that we also become ‘the Dwelling Place’ – His Habitation. The standards are The Highest.

“Or do you not know that your body is the Dwelling Place of the Set-apart Spirit who is in you, which you have from Elohim, and you are not your own? For you were bought with a price, therefore esteem Elohim in your body and in your spirit, which are of Elohim.”  Qorintiyim Aleph/1 Corinthians 6:19-20

And I heard someone speaking to me from the House, while a man stood beside me.  Yehezqel/Ezekiel 43:6-12

7And He said to me, “Son of man/Ben-Adam, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, when I dwell in the midst of the children of Yisra’El forever, and the house of Yisra’El shall no longer defile My set-apart Shem, they nor their sovereigns, by their whoring and by the corpses of their sovereigns on their high places.”

8“When they placed their threshold by My threshold, and their doorpost by My doorpost, with a wall between them and Me, they defiled My set-apart Name by the abominations which they have done. So I consumed them in My displeasure.”

9“Now let them put their whoring and the corpses of their sovereigns far away from Me, and I shall dwell in their midst forever.”

10“Son of man, explain the House to the house of Yisra’El, and when they are ashamed of their crookednesses, they shall measure the measurements.”

11 “And since they shall be ashamed of all that they did, make known to them the design of the House and its structure, and its exits and its entrances, its entire design and all its laws, and all its forms and all its Torot. And write it down before their eyes, so that they observe its entire design and all its laws, and shall do them.”

12“This is the Torah of the House: Upon the Mountaintop, all the boundary of it, all around, is Most Set-Apart. See, this is the Torah of the House.”

The Hebrew root aman means firm, something that is supported or secure. This word is used in Yeshayahu/Isaiah 22:23 for a nail that is fastened to a ‘secure’ place. Derived from this root is the word emun, meaning craftsman. A craftsman is one who is firm and secure in his talent. The feminine form of emun is the word emunah meaning firmness, something or someone that is firm in their actions. When the Hebrew word emunah is translated as ‘faith’, as it often is, misconceptions of its meaning occur. Faith is usually perceived as a knowing while the Hebrew emunah is a firm action. To have faith in Elohim is not knowing that Elohim exists or knowing that he will act, rather it is that the one with emunah will act with firmness toward Elohim’s will.
