Seven bearing witness of Thé WITNESS Рthe Anointed Word who became flesh:

  • Solomon – the wise king who dedicated the temple for the Name of the Great¬†King of kings.
  • David – the man who knew the Father ľs heart and who more than any other¬†writer of the Scriptures exalted His Name.
  • Sha√ļl (Paul) – the apostle, previously a blasphemer, persecutor and murderer.¬†Chosen to proclaim the Name before nations, kings and the nation of Israel.
  • Yakov (James) – the brother of the Messiah, and leader of the first Messianic¬†congregation. He knew the Name Bearer and thus the Name intimately.
  • Yahuchanan (John) – the beloved apostle who in his writings revealed the¬†Messiah ľs true identity. (His true Name)
  • Luke – the Greek physician who was the only Scripture writer who was not a¬†Hebrew. His book of Acts can be seen as a thesis about the Name.
  • Kefa (Peter) – the disciple who first received the revelation of the true identity¬†of the Messiah – the Son of the Most High – and Name Bearer.


Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended?… What is His Name, and what is His¬†Son ľs Name? Do you know it? (Proverbs 30:4)


The chariots of Eloah are twenty thousand, thousands of thousands; YaHuWaH came from Sinai into the Set-apart Place. You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive, You have received gifts among men, and even the rebellious, that Yah Elohim might dwell there. (Psalm 68:18 The Scriptures)


Wherefore He saith, when He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and received gifts from men. (Now He that ascended, what is it but that He descended first into the lowest parts of the earth? He that descended IS THE SAME also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fill all things.) (Eph. 4:8-10 KJV)

Messiah Yahusha, who being in the form of Elohim, did not regard equality with Elohim a matter to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, and came (descended) to be in the likeness of men. And having been found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, death even of a stake. Elohim, therefore, has highly exalted Him (ascended) and given Him the Name which is above every name, that at the Name of Yahusha every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on the earth,  and of those under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Yahusha Messiah is Master, to the esteem of Elohim the Father. (Philippians 2:6-11 The Scriptures)

Yakov (James):

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, (descended) and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (Yak.1:17 KJV)

Yahuchanan (John): In these verses he is quoting the words of the Messiah. What and if you shall see the Son of Man ascend up where He was before? (John 6:62 KJV)

For I came down from heaven, (descended) not to do My own will, but the will of Him that sent Me. (John 6:38 KJV)

And they said: Is not this Yahusha, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that He says, I came down (descended) from heaven? (John 6:42 KJV) I am the living bread which came down from heaven: (descended) if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever; and the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. (John 6:51 KJV)

This is the bread which came down (descended) from heaven. (John 6:58 KJV)

And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son (He descended) to be the Saviour of the world. (1 John 4:14 KJV)


And He led them out as far as to Bethany, and lifted up His hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while He blessed them, He was parted from them, and carried up (ascended) into heaven. And they worshipped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing the Almighty. (Luke 24:50-53 KJV adjusted)

The first account, I made, O Theophilos, of all that YaHUShA began both to do and to teach,¬†until the day when He was taken up, (ascended) after giving instructions through the Set-apart¬†Spirit to the emissaries whom He had chosen… (Acts 1:1-2 The Scriptures)

But you shall receive power when the Set-apart Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My¬†witnesses in Yarushalayim, and in all Yahudah and Shomeron, and to the end of the earth. And¬†having said this, while they were looking on, He was taken up, (ascended) and a cloud hid Him¬†from their sight. And as they were gazing into the heaven as He went up, see, two men stood by¬†them dressed in white, who said, ‚ÄúMen of Galil, why do you stand looking up into heaven? This¬†same Yahusha, who was taken up from you into the heaven, shall come in the same way (2nd¬†descent) as you saw Him go into the heaven.‚ÄĚ (Acts 1:8-11 The Scriptures)

Kefa (Peter):

Elohim has raised up (ascended) this Yahusha, of which we are all witnesses. Therefore,¬†having been exalted to the right hand of Elohim, and having received from the Father the¬†promise of the Set-apart Spirit, He poured out (descent of the Spirit) this which you now see¬†and hear. For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself said, YaHuWaH said to my¬†Master, ‚ÄúSit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.‚ÄĚ Therefore let¬†all the house of Yasarel know for certain that Elohim has made this Yahusha whom you¬†impaled, both Master and Messiah. (Acts 2:32-36 The Scriptures)

Because even Messiah once suffered for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to¬†Elohim, having been put to death indeed in flesh but made alive in the Spirit, in which also He¬†went (descended) and proclaimed unto the spirits in prison…through the resurrection of¬†Yahusha Messiah, who, having gone (ascended) into heaven, is at the right hand of Elohim,¬†messengers and authorities and powers having been subjected to Him. (1 Peter 3:18-22 The¬†Scriptures)

A Few Thoughts about these Verses:

The above verses are all about the identity of the Messiah. Who was He in truth? Two of the¬†seven witnesses were kings, four were apostles, and one a well-to-do convert from a pagan¬†nation. In Revelation 3:14 we read: And to the messenger of the assembly in Laodikeia write,¬†‚ÄúThe Aman, the Trustworthy and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of Elohim…‚ÄĚ

This article deals with the true identity of the Messiah which is under severe attack today from liberal theologians as well as certain groups of so-called Messianic believers. The entire Scriptures Рthe TaNaK (OT) as well as the Messianic Writings (NT), witness about the Messiah, who He is. In this article I have selected seven witnesses. But it is interesting that in the Revelation verse quoted above the Messiah refers to Himself as the Trustworthy and True Witness Рthe Beginning (Source) of the Creation, that is; The Creator!

The Important Questions:

Solomon poses the questions very clearly; Who has ascended and who has descended? What¬†is His Name and what is His Son ľs Name? Then David comes and in his frank and honest¬†manner states: You – by Name YaHuWaH– are the One who ascended. If YaHuWaH the Creator is¬†the One who ascended into heaven, then logically, before He could ascend He must have¬†descended first.

That same argument is used by the learned apostle Paul. He explains David ľs statement so¬†clearly that anyone can understand of whom he is speaking. Now He that ascended, what is it¬†but that He descended first into the lowest parts of the earth? HE THAT DESCENDED IS THE¬†SAME ALSO THAT ASCENDED up far above all heavens, that He might fill all things.) (Eph.¬†4:9-10 KJV)

The Riddle – Two Persons or just ONE?

David says that YaHuWaH (the Father) ascended. Paul says that the ONE who ascended must¬†have descended first. Then He states emphatically that the One who descended is the same¬†One that ascended. David is speaking of YaHuWaH and Paul is speaking of Yahusha. We can¬†therefore come to no other conclusion as that YaHuWaH and Yahusha is ONE and the same¬†Person! When Solomon initially poses his questions then it is clear that he is also referring to¬†ONE Person. Let ľs have a look at all his questions to see whether this ONE Person concept is¬†confirmed.

Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended?

Who has gathered the wind in His fists?

Who has bound the waters in a garment?

Who has established all the ends of the earth?

 After asking these four questions that clearly refer to ONE Person, he then asks a further two questions that actually make up the riddle, for suddenly it seems as if he is referring to two Persons:

What is His Name?

And what is His Son ľs Name, if you can tell?

We can pose the last two questions as follows: What is this Person ľs Name in His revelation as¬†the Father? and what is His Name in His revelation as the Son? Through his questions the wise¬†Solomon is witnessing to the truth that the Creator is ONE Person who revealed Himself as both¬†the Father and the Son. I believe that Scripture as a whole confirms this concept. Is that not¬†what Paul is putting across in his letter to the Philippians that I quoted above?

Who being in the form of the Almighty !…

What is Scripture saying here??? Other translations translate this verse as: He who has the same stature as the Almighty. Is it at all possible that the Creator who often introduces Himself as a jealous Eloah (Mighty One) who will never tolerate any other so-called mighty ones before His face, (Ex.20:5, 34:14, Deut.4:24, 5:9, 6:15) suddenly change His opinion, and in the New Covenant recognize another being as having His stature? In other words, make one of His created beings (a creature) equal to Himself? No, that would be totally impossible! Therefore there is only one possibility. He that has the same stature as the Almighty, IS the Almighty who revealed Himself as the Son of the Almighty, and in this form of Himself was also then the Son of Adam (Man). The only way for Him to become a human was to be born from a woman. That is why He referred to Himself, in the Scriptures, as the Son of Man more often than as the Son of Eloah.

He did this by making Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and become obedient unto death, even the death of the stake. (cross)

Therefore Eloah also highly exalted Him…

After He had accomplished our deliverance (salvation) by offering Himself up, He ascended to the highest position of authority. Thereby the Father gave to the Son the Name which is above every name: that at the Name of Yahusha every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Yahusha Messiah is Master, to the esteem of Eloah the Father. (Phil.2:6-11 KJV with correct Name and title restored)

I want to confirm the truth of this study with two other portions of Scripture. Firstly from the¬†prophet YashaYahu (Isaiah), and then a very interesting conversation between the Messiah and¬†His disciples in which He very clearly affirms that He is an integral part of this ONE Elohim¬†concept which is the foundation of true worship. Hear O Yasarel, YaHuWaH your Elohim, YaHuWaH¬†is ONE… Therefore you shall love YaHuWaH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul¬†and with all your strength. (Deut.6:4-5 KJV with the correct Name and title restored)

YashaYahu – Isaiah:

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty El, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgement and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of YaHuWaH of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:6-7 KJV with the correct Name and title restored)

What is the prophet saying here? Simply this, that by His zeal (urgent desire and resolve) YaHUaH will give His Son (Himself) to us in the form of a human Child. This Child will have the stature of Mighty El and Everlasting Father. In other words Рthis Child will be the Mighty El Рthe Everlasting Father! But in His human form (Son of Man) He will be known as the Son. (of Elohim) Elohim is the plural form of El or Eloah. That does not mean that when He was on earth two thousand years ago, that the Father ceased to exist in heaven. Neither does it mean that Elohim was or is two separate Persons, for that would contradict Deuteronomy 6:4 which teaches very clearly that Elohim is ONE. But neither does it mean that there is not a very definite distinction between the Father and the Son.

How then can we understand this Father and Son – but at the same time ONE Elohim concept¬†that Scripture apparently promulgates? Before I attempt an answer, let me just say this. We¬†should remember, after all, that the Creator of this vast universe that the ‚Äúclever‚ÄĚ scientists have¬†not even begun to discover, is infinitely greater and larger than His creation. Therefore He is¬†elevated so far above us mortal beings that it is virtually impossible to understand Him. A minute¬†black ant has a better chance of understanding a human being of whom it is not even aware,¬†than a sinful human has of understanding this awesome Creator. We can only understand that¬†about Him which He, in His mercy, reveals to us.

Let me try to explain how I understand His revelation of Himself from Scripture. The easiest way is to first understand myself as His creature. What does Scripture teach in this regard?

So Elohim created man in His own image, in the image of Elohim created He him; male and female created He them. (Gen.1:27 KJV with the correct title restored)

How should we interpret that verse? Quite simply Рhumankind was originally created in the image of the Creator. If we then take a look at the actual creation of the first man, then to a degree we can come to some sort of conclusion about the Creator, for man bears His image and must therefore reflect Him. Is that not a simple and logical argument? Let us then have a look at the creation of the first man.

And YaHuWaH Elohim formed man of the dust of the ground, (body) and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, (Ruach Рspirit) and man became a living soul. (Gen.2:7 KJV with the Name restored)

Every human being is a spirit with its own personality. (soul or being) This spiritual being lives in a body made up of the same chemical matter as the earth Рdust. A human dies when the spirit departs from that body Рwhen it breathes out its last breath. (spirit) Every human therefore consists of the three elements of spirit, soul and body. This truth is also confirmed by the apostle Paul in his letter to the Thessalonian congregation. And the very Elohim of peace set you completely apart, and I pray Elohim your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming (2nd descent) of our Master Yahusha Messiah. (1 Thes.5:23 KJV with the correct Name restored)

This verse states clearly that the Creator is concerned about the total person, not just the soul and the spirit of an individual. The body of a person is just as important to Him, and therefore it should be just as important to its inhabitant. Therefore we should not neglect our bodies. Every believer’s body is after all the dwelling place (temple) of the Father/Son through His Spirit. (Joh. 14:16-18 & 23) He wants every believer to be preserved (irreproachable Рwithout defect, blemish, fault, sickness or shortcomings) until His return. That is His perfect will. He wants a pure and perfect bride in every respect.

Therefore every ONE person is a triune being Рhe/she is not three separate persons. When I am speaking to my wife, then my total being is involved. My body, through the vocal chords, mouth, lips and tongue does the talking, but the words proceeding from my mouth is a reflection of my spirit and personality (soul). Every word I speak originates from my mind, my thought world Рthe spirit and soul.

We are created in His image, and if we are triune beings, then He must also be ONE triune Being. That is exactly what can be concluded from Scripture. In the beginning Elohim (Father) created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim moved upon the face of the waters. And Elohim said, (Elohim the Word РSon spoke) Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:1-2 KJV with the correct title restored)

As with the account of the creation of the first man, there is no mention here of three separate¬†Persons or Beings, only ONE Person who reveals Himself as a TRIUNE Being. Nevertheless,¬†there is still a distinction between these three ‚Äúelements‚ÄĚ, if we have the liberty of using this¬†word in our limited language in order to try and explain this ONE awesome Creator. When He¬†descended to the earth, He poured Himself in all His fulness into a human body and the¬†distinction that He made between Himself and that Part of Him dwelling in the body was to refer¬†to Him as the Son. If there is a Son, then we can assume that there is a Father. Look at what¬†the apostle Paul says in this regard to the congregation of the Colossians.

Giving thanks unto the Father, who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the¬†saints in light. Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the¬†kingdom of His dear Son. In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the¬†forgiveness of sins. Who (the Son) is the image of the invisible Eloah, (Father) the firstborn¬†(Initiator, Originator, Beginner) of every creature. For by Him (the Son) were all things created,¬†that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or¬†dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him. And He is¬†before all things, and by Him (the Son) all things consist. And He is the Head of the body, the¬†assembly: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead: that in all things He (the Son) might¬†have the pre-eminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him (the Son) should all fulness¬†dwell. and having made peace through the blood of the stake…¬†(Col.1:12-20 KJV with the correct title restored)

What did the Messiah (Son) claim of Himself:

If this is the truth, (and one of the amazing statements that this Man made was РI AM THE TRUTH, John 14:6) then obviously Scripture will reflect this concept very clearly in His own words. I am going to quote a large portion of the conversation between the Messiah and His intimate group of disciples shortly before He was so unfairly judged, sentenced and executed. We find this conversation recorded in John 14, 15 and 16:

John 14:

Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in Elohim, believe also in Me. (v.1) Can we not infer from this amazing statement that the Messiah was making Himself equal to the Almighty? In other words, He is saying: If you believe in Me, then you actually believe in Elohim.

¬†In My Father ľs house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go (to¬†ascend) to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again,¬†(2nd descent) and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. (v.2-4 KJV)

Remember, the Master is conversing with His disciples who had grown up with the expectation of the coming Anointed One (Messiah). He had been preparing them during the past three years of His imminent death (descent into hell) and resurrection. (ascent into heaven) He accepted that they knew He was the long-awaited Messiah of Yasarel (Israel). He accepted that they believed it and therefore expected it. But we see that their reaction to these words almost bordered on despair.

Thomas said to Him, Master, we know not where You are going, and how can we know the way? (v.5)

Can you read between the lines and hear the desperation in the words of Thomas? The Master now responds with those wonderful and well-known words Рthe root of the Good News message.

I AM (Heb. Hayah Рthe same word YaHuWaH spoke to Mosheh at the burning bush, Ex.3:14) the way, the truth and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by Me. If you had known Me, you should have known My Father also: and from now you know Him, and have seen Him. (v.6-7) To me these living words of the Messiah are like a spotlight shining on and identifying the Creator.

No man comes unto the Father, but by Me. (the Son)


No-one can come to the Father if he does not come to the Son.


No-one can pray to the Father if he does not pray to the Son. (in His Name)


No-one can worship the Father if he does not worship the Son.


The Father and the Son is ONE Being – ONE Elohim – The same Creator!

 If you had known Me, you should have known My Father also: and from now you know Him, and have seen Him. Wow! Verse 6 is enough to convince me. But He does not stop there. The next sentence that He speaks is even clearer. He says: If you know Me you should also know My Father. That is only possible if the Father and the Son is the same Being. My son and I are two completely different persons. There are many people who know my son but who do not know me at all. But the Son says: If you know Me, then you do know the Father. What this Man is saying just does not make any sense to the disciples. I am convinced that after the Messiah spoke the previous words, that there was a long drawn-out silence. At last Phillip managed to gather together a bit of courage and said hesitantly: Master, show us the Father, and that will satisfy us. (v.8) In other words, I have my doubts about what You are saying, Master, but all You need to do is to show us the Father Рjust reveal Him to us and that will be enough to convince us. Then we will believe.

What was the Master ľs answer to this honest request? Have I been with you for so long, and yet¬†have you not known Me, Phillip? He that has seen Me has seen the Father; how then do you¬†say, Show us the Father? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me?¬†The words I speak unto you I speak not of Myself: but the Father who dwells in Me, He does the¬†works. Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me: or else believe Me for the very¬†works sake. Truly, truly I say unto you, He that believes on Me, the works that I do shall he do¬†also, and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto My Father. (v.9-12)

Are these not remarkable words? To see Him, He says, is to see the Father! No wonder His¬†disciples had their doubts. This Man who was standing before them tells them directly that He is¬†the Father – the Almighty Creator of the universe! Could they believe Him? Could they take that¬†chance? If they placed their faith in Him, and what He claimed was not the truth, then they too¬†would be the innocent victims of one of the many self-proclaimed false messiahs that during the¬†past centuries had plagued and deceived the nation of Yasarel (Israel). He understands their¬†uncertainty and that is why He continues and explains that the words He speaks are not His¬†own, but are in reality the Father ľs words. When He speaks, it is the Father speaking. Not a¬†single one of the other self-proclaimed messiahs had ever claimed such a thing.

Moreover, He explains, it is the Father who is doing the works. Believe Me for the sake of the works that I have been doing for the past three years. In other words, the miracles that you have seen Рthe dead raised, the sick healed, bread and fish multiplied to feed thousands, storms stilled by His word, demons expelled, walking on water etc. etc. All these prove that He is whom He in actual fact claims to be. To confirm His identity, He shows that He has the authority of the Almighty. He makes another fantastic promise to all who would believe in Him that they would perform the same works that He did because He was going to ascend and be re-united with His Father and leave His authority (in the form of His Name) with them.

And whatsoever you shall ask in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be esteemed in the Son. If you shall ask anything in My Name I will do it. (v.13-14)

His Name – His Authority:

That last verse is as clear as one plus one equals two! Whatsoever you shall ask in My Name,¬†that will I do, that the Father may be esteemed in this revelation of Him as the Son. Think again¬†of those two riddle questions that Solomon posed. What is His (Father ľs) Name, and what is His¬†Son ľs Name, do you know it?

The Creator placed these questions in His Word for He wants us to know that His authority is¬†contained in His Name. He linked His authority and His power to His Name. That Name¬†(authority) has been made available (given) to every believer. If we believe in the Messiah (the¬†Anointed One whose Name is also the Anointing – Songs 1:3) who ascended to the right hand of¬†the Father, the highest position of Authority in heaven, then it is as if that Authority belongs to But this Authority is coupled to His true Name – the Name that alone identifies Him as the¬†Almighty. If the believer asks anything in His Name, then He honours His Name by doing it.¬†Does it then make any sense for a believer to just decide that it doesn ľt really matter what we¬†call Him or how we address Him? Unbelievably, many believers today are doing just that.

If you love Me, keep My commandments. (v.15)

Here is another verse that proves that the Messiah is in fact YaHuWaH in the flesh. He is quoting¬†from the Ten Commandments where YaHuWaH is speaking: I AM YaHuWaH your Eloah, who¬†brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage… And showing mercy unto¬†thousands of them that love Me, and keep My commandments. (Ex.20:2 & 6 KJV with the correct Name and title restored) If the Messiah was not YaHuWaH in the flesh, what audacity to¬†claim the Ten Commandments as being His.

And I will pray the Father and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever. Even the Spirit of truth of whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him: but you know Him for He dwells with you and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world sees Me no more; but you see Me: because I live, you shall live also. At that day you shall know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He that has My commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves Me: and he that loves Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him. (v.16-21)

In these few verses the Almighty reveals Himself as a Triune Being РFather, Son and Spirit. The Messiah (Son) says that He will pray to the Father to send the Spirit. Then He identifies Himself with the Spirit by saying: I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you. (in and through the Spirit) Then He makes it even plainer by explaining that we will know that He is in the Father, or that He is the Father. Again He lays claim to His commandments. If we keep them, then He shall manifest or reveal Himself to us. Reveal Himself? As YaHuWaH of course!

Judas said to Him, not Iscariot, Master, how is it that You will manifest Yourself unto us, and not¬†unto the world? Yahusha answered and said unto him, If a man love Me, he will keep My¬†words; and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with¬†him. He that loves Me not keeps not My sayings: and the word which you hear is not Mine, but¬†the Father ľs which sent Me. (v.22-24)

Again the Messiah confirms in clear language that He is One with the Almighty Рand we know that this Being is ONE. How else can we interpret the following words? If a man love Me, he will keep My words; and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with him.

These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Set-apart Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (v.25-27)

Here He places the emphasis squarely on His Name – His true identity. Notice something most¬†interesting and very significant, the Father will send the Spirit ‚Äúin‚ÄĚ the Name of the Messiah!¬†Recall again the questions at the start of this article: What is His Name? and what is the Name¬†of His Son? It is the same Name! The Son inherited the Name of His Father. The writer of the¬†letter to the Hebrews confirms this truth.

Elohim, (Father, Son and Spirit) who in different times and in many ways spoke in time past¬†unto the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He¬†has appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds. Who (the Son) being the¬†brightness of His (Father ľs) splendour, and the express image of His Person, and upholding all¬†things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right¬†hand of the Majesty on high. Being made so much better than the angels, as He has by¬†inheritance obtained a more excellent Name than they.¬†For unto which of the angels said He (Father) at any time, You are My Son, this day have I¬†begotten You? (birthed You from out of Myself) And again, I will be to Him a Father, and He¬†shall be to Me a Son?¬†And again, when He brings in the first begotten (the Son) into the world, he says, And let all the¬†angels of Elohim worship Him. (the Son) (Heb.1:1-6 KJV with the right title restored)

Back to the words of the Messiah that the beloved apostle Yahuchanan (John) penned: You have heard how I said unto you, I go away, (ascend) and come again (second descent) unto you. If you loved Me, you would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for My Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, you might believe. Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world comes, and has nothing in Me. But that the world may know that I love the father; and as the Father gave Me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. (v.28-31)

Those people who do not believe that the Messiah and the Father is ONE Being, use the argument that the Messiah Himself said that the Father was greater than He. But He is only lesser than the Father in His humanity. After His resurrection, just before He ascended to the highest position of authority Рthe right hand of the Father, Scripture teaches us: And when they saw Him, they worshipped Him: but some doubted. And Yahusha came and spoke unto them, saying, All power (authority) is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. You go therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name (singular) of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Set-apart Spirit: (One Elohim РOne Name) teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Aman. (Mat.28:17-20)

John 15:

I am the true vine, and My Father is the farmer. Every branch in Me that bears not fruit He takes away: and every branch that bears fruit, He purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now you are clean through the Word that I have spoken unto you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without Me you can do nothing. (v.1-5)

Why did the Father decide to descend to His creation in and through His Son? According to these words of the Son it is quite simple. He had to become the Vine so that every branch could get the necessary nutrition in order to bear fruit. Fruit is most important in the spiritual context for it represents life. Fruit is food and without food life cannot be sustained. The Son is also the Bread of life. (Joh.6:32-35)

If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered, and men gather them,¬†and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (v.6) If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in¬†you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is My Father esteemed,¬†that you bear much fruit, so shall you be My disciples. As the Father has loved Me, so have I¬†loved you: continue in My love.¬†If you keep My commandments, you shall abide in My love, even as I have kept My Father ľs¬†commandments, and abide in His love. These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might¬†remain in you, and that your joy might be full.¬†This is My commandment, That you love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love has no¬†man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends, if you do¬†whatsoever I command you.¬†Henceforth I call you not servants: for the servant knows not what his Master does: but I have¬†called you friends: for all things that I have heard of My Father I have made known unto you.¬†You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and¬†that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My Name, He may¬†give it you. (v.7-16)

To abide in Him, to be obedient to His commands, our love for Him and for each other, bearing fruit Рis only possible if we ask it of the father IN THE NAME OF THE MESSIAH.

These things I command you, that you love one another. If the world hate you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love his own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hated you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you: if they have kept My saying, they will keep yours also.

But all these things will they do unto you for My Name ľs sake, because they know not Him¬†that sent Me. (v.17-21)

Again He emphasizes the truth that believers will be persecuted for His Name ľs sake. Everyone¬†that knows, loves and walks within His Name will become the enemy ľs target. However, the¬†Name is also the Strong Tower in which the believer is absolutely safe from the onslaughts of¬†that enemy. (Prov.18:10) Love towards one another is also the ingredient that sets us apart from¬†the world. He commands us to love each other.

If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin. He that hates Me hates My Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no other man did, they would not have had sin: but now they have both seen and hated both Me and My Father. but this comes to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated Me without a cause. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of Me. And you also shall bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning. (v.22-27)

It is noteworthy that the Messiah said in John 14:26 that it is the Father that will send the¬†Comforter in Yahusha ľs Name. Now He says that He, (after He has ascended) will send the¬†Comforter from the Father. That only makes sense if He and the Father is ONE and the same¬†Being.

John 16:

These things have I spoken unto you, that you should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yes, the time is coming, that whosoever kills you will think that he does Elohim a service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor Me. But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, you may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. (v.1-4)

In this portion of Scripture He is talking of the inevitable persecution that believers will be experiencing. It is ironical that the persecutors will actually think that they are doing the Almighty a favour by getting rid of believers in Messiah. Again Scripture is teaching that Father and Son are ONE. It is impossible to love the Father if one does not have a love for the Son.

But now I go My way (to ascend) to Him that sent Me; and none of you asks Me, Where are You going? But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you. And when He is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on Me. Of righteousness, because I go (ascend) to My Father, and you see Me no more. Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. (v.5-11)

In terms of this revelation of who the Son, in truth, is, there is so much depth in these few verses. In the first place, why did He descend and become a Man? Because as the Son He had to fulfill His role as the Lamb of Elohim. In no other way could He become the innocent Offering if He was not a Man. The Father is Spirit РHe does not have a physical body of flesh and blood. (Joh.4:24) The Set-apart (Holy) Spirit is obviously also Spirit and is not limited to a physical body. Only in His revelation of Himself as the Son does the Almighty (Elohim) have a body.

It was necessary for Him to prepare a physical body for Himself, otherwise there would not have¬†been pure, incorruptible blood that could be offered to pay for the sins of mankind… For it is not¬†possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore when He (the¬†Son) comes into the world, (descent) He says, Sacrifice and offering You (Father) did not want,¬†but a body You have prepared for Me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no¬†pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me,) to do Your will, O¬†Elohim. (Psm.40:6-7 & Heb.10:4-7 KJV with the correct title restored)¬†He did it for us! Peter, one of our witnesses wrote: Forasmuch as you know that you were not¬†redeemed with corruptible things, as silwer and gold, from your vain lifestyle received by¬†tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb without¬†blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but¬†was manifest (descent) in these last times for you. Who by Him (the Son) do believe in Elohim,¬†that raised Him up from the dead, and gave Him glory, (ascended) that your faith and hope¬†might be in Elohim. (1 Pet.1:18-21 KJV with the correct title restored)

I have yet many things to say unto you, but you cannot hear them now. However when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself, but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come. He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall show it unto you. (v.12-14)

Father, Son and Spirit is ONE Almighty, not three. He did reveal Himself in three manifestations or forms. For mankind the most important of these manifestations is, of course, the Son, for it is only through the Son that a person can come into a relationship with Him. In the verses above the Son says that the Spirit (who only came after the Son ascended to the highest position of authority Рthe right hand of the Father) would glorify Him (the Son). Why would the Spirit of YaHuWaH not glorify the Father? He does! for the Father and Son is ONE and the same Person. Just look at what the Son then says:

All things that the Father has are Mine: therefore I said that He (the Spirit) shall take of Mine, and shall show it unto you. A little while, and you shall not see Me: and again, a little while, and you shall see Me, because I go to the Father. (v.15-16)

Another fantastic claim that the Son of Man Рthe Son of Elohim makes concerning Himself. If He was not ONE with the Father, what an arrogant attitude!

And in that day (after He ascended) you shall ask Me nothing. Truly, truly, I say unto you, Whatsoever you shall ask the Father in My Name, He will give it you. Hitherto you have asked nothing in My Name: ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full. (v.23-24) In that day you shall ask in My Name: and I say not unto you that I will pray the Father for you: For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came out (descended) from Elohim. I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: (descended) again, I leave the world, and go (ascend) to the Father. (v.26-28)

The more I read and meditate upon the Scriptures, the greater my love and appreciation for the Creator grows, He who revealed Himself to us in such a remarkable yet simple way Рbirthing Himself into the world as a Child! I came forth from the Father.

In conclusion I share the wonderful words of a modern psalm:

There is ONE – He knows my weakness

There is ONE who understands

O Yah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah

There is ONE – He ľs the ONE.

There is ONE – He ľs all of love

There is ONE – He is so faithful

There is ONE – He ľs the ONE.

And who guides me by my hand

He ľs the ONE – when I fear

There is ONE – He gave us His Life

There is ONE – its all of grace

Dear reader and fellow believer in Yahusha the Son, He ľs the ONE.

He ľs the ONE that promised never to leave nor forsake us. (Heb.13:5 & Gen.28:15)

He ľs the ONE in whom we have eternal life. (1 Joh.5:11-12)

He ľs the ONE who gives us eternal life. (Joh.10:28)

He ľs the ONE who is the LIFE. (Joh.11:25)

He ľs the ONE, the only ONE.
